Hotel gas contracts: kitchens, hot water, heating, laundry
Hotels use gas hard. Kitchen ranges run through breakfast and dinner service, hot water cylinders feed every shower and bath, laundry is gas-fired in larger sites, and central heating runs from October through April. Standard small-business gas contracts don’t price that demand profile well. We compare suppliers across the open UK market with hotel load shapes in mind, not a generic small-shop rate.

Winter exposure and contract length
Gas wholesale prices are most volatile through autumn and winter. If your renewal lands in September or October, suppliers price in that seasonal risk and quote higher rates. Where we can, we’ll renew you on a 24- or 36-month fixed locked in during the quieter summer market. That often beats a 12-month deal signed under winter pricing pressure. We model both routes so you can see the trade-off clearly.
Multi-meter sites and consolidated billing
Larger hotels often have separate gas meters for kitchen, boilers, leisure / spa, and any standalone function venues on site. Consolidating them onto one supplier usually unlocks volume-based unit rates plus a single bill to manage. We model consolidated against keeping them split, and present the numbers clearly enough for the finance team to sign off without re-checking.
Green gas and biomethane options
If sustainability is part of your guest proposition or your group’s ESG commitments, biomethane-backed gas tariffs are now available from most major suppliers. The price premium is small, and the supplier provides the certification trail. We’ll quote both standard and green gas options so you can see the cost difference before committing.
